Hyderabad: A newly married MBA graduate was found dead in her apartment at Alwal on Wednesday. While the woman’s husband said that she was found hanging her parents alleged that she was murdered over dowry.
Police said they did not find a suicide note but a message written in bold red letters on her room’s mirror said “nobody is responsible for my death.” The woman, Lasya Priya, 24, had been living with her husband Abhishek Nair and family at Alwal. Abhishek told the police that Lasya, who slept with him in the hall on Tuesday night, was not seen on bed when he woke up in the morning.
"He said that when he went to the room he found her hanging. The incident occurred in the morning but there was a delay in reporting to the police," said Malkajgiri DCP Rama Rajeswari.
Abhishek and Priya, who were classmates during MBA at a private college in the city married a month ago. Priya's family alleged that Abhishek had demanded dowry after the wedding and must have killed and hanged her. However, the police is yet to confirm the nature of the death.
