Nellore: A couple killed their 22-year-old son with the help of hired killers at Diguva Sambaiah Palem in the Thottambedu mandal of Chittoor district early on Monday.
The victim, Rambabu, was an engineering graduate who had become an alcoholic. He was said to have tortured his parents for money to buy liquor every day.
His father, Munisekhar, is an employee at a Sulabh complex at Tirumala and mother, Munemma, a housewife.
Sources said Munisekhar went to visit his father living in Diguva Sambaiah Palem on Sunday evening along with Rambabu.
He took his son to a stone crushing unit near the village. Rambabu’s body was found in a pool of blood near the crusher after midnight on Sunday.
Munisekhar told his his daughter, Latha, in Srikalahasti on Monday that someone had murdered Rambabu.
Suspecting his hand behind the murder, Latha approached the II-Town police. Based on her complaint, the police detained the parents.
They confessed during interrogation. Police said that Munisekhar hired three people from Tirupati to kill his son.
