Bruce spills his heart out and puts haters to shame in new video clip
Mumbai: The news channel that shot the explosive Bruce Jenner transition interview, has released a new 8-minute clip of the former American athlete and television taking about his transition.
Bruce, who was an American hero at the time, with several Olympic wins, came out on last weekend as a transgender. The television channel had released a clip that sheds light on his troubles and battles with himself, on Monday.
The emotionally charged interview stars off with Bruce being asked if he ‘is a woman’. After battling for words and with the help of a lot of hand gestures, he says that he was “in all intents and purposes a woman.”
Over the years of his transition, the reality television star has been ridiculed for his comments like, ‘I am excited to start my life as a single middle-aged woman’. In the interview, he however, brushes it off and says that his story was just one of the many others out there, and that he couldn’t speak for the 700,000 transgender Americans, but he hopes his coming forward will help.
The father of six and former husband of three women, openly admitted that his decision to step forward as a woman meant there was no going back. As he was part of a reality television show, and has now also bagged his own show with E! put all the hate comments to rest when he said, “Yeah, we’re doing this for publicity!” A teary eyed Bruce went on to say, “Have you any idea of what I have been going through all my life? And they say I am doing this for ‘publicity’ of a show? God! There are a lot of shows out there.”
The Olympic gold medallist also revealed that his ‘transition’ began back in the 80’s after a series of depression and falling apart. It was then that he finally decided to go to the doctor who prescribed female hormones – estrogens – which than made everything better.
Bruce also seems to be convinced that his actions will bring about greater good. He said, “What we’re doing (here) is good, and we are going to make a difference in the world with what we are doing.”
