Delhi police blame AAP, dismiss magisterial probe

Police also claimed that when they tried to take him to RML Hospital in a police vehicle

New Delhi: Levelling serious allegations against Aam Aadmi Party workers and leaders, the Delhi police in its FIR in connection with the farmer’s suicide case accused them of having instigated the deceased to commit suicide besides putting all sorts of obstacles in their efforts to rescue him.

The police also dismissed the magisterial probe ordered by the Delhi government, saying it has no jurisdiction in the matter. The FIR, registered under IPC Sections 306 (abetment to suicide), 186 (obstructing a public servant from doing his duty) and 34 (common intention) late on Wednesday night accuses the AAP workers and leaders of not cooperating with the police..

“This is totally an incident where AAP workers and leaders instigated the man to commit suicide and they also did not pay heed to requests made by the police,” reads the FIR.

The police also claimed that when they tried to take him to RML Hospital in a police vehicle, AAP workers blocked their way instead of giving clear passage to the police jeep and said he was a party worker and would be taken to hospital in their vehicle. “We then pushed them and rushed him to RML Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead,” it added.
