CM N Chandrababu Naidu to go on water yatra, sleep in bus

Mr Naidu will interact with the locals, farmers and officials
Hyderabad: The Chief Minister is in no mood to go back on the setting up of an international airport at Bhogapuram despite stiff resistance from farmers and land owners. In the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Mr Naidu tasked four ministers — Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Ch Ayyanna Patrudu, Kimidi Mrunalini and K Atchennaidu — to persuade farmers and secure 15,000 acres for greenfield airport. If they fail, the government would acquire property.
It was also decided that Mr Naidu would go on a bus yatra three to four days a week to oversee the implementation of water harvesting and conservation projects besides repairs to water bodies, check dams, irrigation tanks and other sources as part of the Neeru-Chettu programme.
Mr Naidu will interact with the locals, farmers and officials and find out the drinking water and irrigation problems being faced by the people. He would sleep in the special bus on the bunds of tanks during his visit.
