Cops said a manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding husband

Hyderabad: A pregnant woman was murdered by her suspicious husband at their home in Prakasam Pantulu Nagar in Jeedimetla on Saturday. The deceased, who was identified as Ghousia Begum, 20, is the daughter of one Mohd Yousuf. She was married to Mohd. Hussain, who works at a tailoring shop, about one and a half years ago. Ghousia was seven months pregnant.
Police said that although the couple was happy initially Hussain started suspecting her fidelity once she became pregnant. He alleged that she became pregnant through an extramarital affair. When Ghousia denied his allegations he subjected her to extreme mental and physical harassment.
Late on Saturday night the couple had an argument. “After the heated argument he strangled her to death. He left her body in the house and went absconding. The incident came to light when neighbours found her dead,” said inspector A. Chandra Shekar. Based on a complaint by the victim’s father a murder case was booked. Cops said a manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding husband.
