P C George stripped of party posts

The action was taken for defying the party and working against the policies of the party
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The high-power committee of the Kerala Congress (M) has suspended the ousted government chief whip, P. C. George, from the post of its vice chairman.
Party chairman and finance minister K. M. Mani told reporters here on Friday after its meeting that Mr George had been suspended from all party positions pending inquiry. However, he will continue as a primary member.
The action was taken for defying the party and working against the policies of the party as per the powers vested with the chairman as per section 28 (1) of the party constitution, Mr Mani said.
The party was viewing the defamatory campaign Mr George was carrying out against the party very seriously. All those who attended the meeting wanted strong action against him. It was under these circumstances that the party was forced to take action.
“I don’t have any personal vengeance against Mr George,” he said. The committee expressed concern over the fall in rubber prices and decided to organise a meeting here on April 20 with the participation of experts and activists to discuss issues relating to it.
Mani cheated EC on dual posts, says P C GEORGE:
P C George MLA on Friday said he will file a 'quo warranto' writ against the 'immorality' of Finance Minister and Kerala Congress (M) Chairman K M Mani holding two positions at the same time.
“According to the constitution of the party, one person should not adorn the party chairman and Minister ship. The KC(M) got the approval of election commission by furnishing the wrong constitution", Mr George alleged. Mr George said in Kottayam he would vote for Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) candidate in the Rajya Sabha polls.
