Party to hold 1st mega public meet after bifurcation

Hyderabad: The TRS is planning to mobilise 10 lakh people for its first mega public meeting after bifurcation to mark its foundation day. The public meeting will be held at Parade Grounds, Secunderabad, on April 27.

The party leadership has decided to invite 36,000 delegates for the plenary session which will be held at the Lal Bahadur Stadium on April 24. Everyone from ministers down to mandal level leaders and those holding elective posts have been invited along with leaders of affiliated organisations.

Posters have already started coming up in some areas about the party’s celebrations.

Chief Minister and TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao has set up seven committees headed by senior party leaders and ministers for the plenary, which will be held from 11 am to 8 pm, and for the public meeting.

“We are making big arrangements for the party plenary and public meeting. The party has constituted seven committees. While only delegates will attend plenary session, about 10 lakh people, one lakh from each of the 10 districts in the state, will attend the public meeting at Parade Grounds,” said Mr Palla Rajeswar Reddy, party MLC and politburo member.

The plenary will see the TRS elect its president, which will be a mere formality; Mr Chandrasekhar Rao is all set to be re-elected for a two-year term. The party will also empower him to constitute the new TRS body. Home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy will be the returning officer for elections.

Of the seven committees, party secretary general K. Keshav Rao will be the chairman of the resolution panel. IT and Panchayat Raj Minister K.T. Rama Rao will be in charge of city decorations for the party gala.

Deputy CM Mahmood Ali has been given charge of food arrangements, while Excise minister T. Padma Rao has been placed at the head of the ground and stage arrangements.

Mr Narasimha Reddy has been made in-charge of parking arrangements, while facilities of women delegates will be under the watch of Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy. Media arrangements will be overseen by party MP Balka Suman.
