Emergency meet held by Andhra Pradesh CM

Naidu also informed Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh about the encounter

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu convened a high-level emergency meeting on Tuesday to discuss the encounter in the Seshachalam hill ranges. Later, the CM talked to Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan over the phone and gave him the details of the incident. Mr Naidu also informed Union home minister Rajnath Singh about the encounter.

The meeting was attended by ministers K. Atchennaidu, Devineni Uma Maheswar Rao, P Narayana, chief secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao, DGP J.V. Ramudu and others. The CM also directed the officials to provide immediate medical care to the injured. He has directed DGP Ramudu to hand over the bodies of the deceased to their families after the post-mortem is conducted.

He also asked the officials to publish the photographs of the deceased in order to get in touch with their families.

Mr Naidu then reviewed the existing patrolling measures by the forest department to curb the smuggling of red sanders.
