Mumbai: Anushka Sharma who faced the brunt of Team India's defeat during the World cup semifinals might not have officially released a statement but the YouTube channel of her last movie 'NH10' (which was produced by the actress), went ahead and released a video response to the Internet bullying she has been subjected to over the last few days.
The short and crisp reply is a montage of memes and harsh tweets by cricket fans. Throughout the match, Anushka was present on the Sydney Cricket Ground to support her country but when went things went awry for the Indian cricket team, people chose to vent out their frustation by putting the actress on the fag end of nasty jokes. Not only were the comments nasty and demeaning but it turned the attention from the sport to Anushka-Virat's relationship. While many were in support of the actress, Twitter was filled with nasty jokes and comments on the actress as well as Virat Kohli.
The video ends with a curse word and is a response to the sexism Anushka faced which is quite similar to character her the movie 'NH10'. The level of misogyny shockingly on display blurs the lines between the reel and real.
