Hyderabad: L&T plans 3 Metro realignment reports in old city

L&T earlier said that it will take five to six months to submit the report
Hyderabad: Larsen and Turbo Metro Rail is contemplating the submission of three separate reports on the techno-commercial aspects of the proposed realignment of the Hyderabad Metro Rail at old city, the Assembly and Sultan Bazaar.
As it is a massive exercise, mapping is required to figure out the existing structures that would have to be acquired by the government, the commercial benefit of the proposed route and also the technical aspects of turning the train.
While chief secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma has sought submission of the report at the earliest, officers state that it is a time-consuming process.
A senior government officer said, “L&T had very specifically said that it will take five to six months to submit the report. As three months are already over, the government wants L&T to expedite the process and submit the reports at the earliest.”
Meanwhile, the Sultan Bazaar Traders’ Association has already been split into two with one group favouring the government, and the other opposing it. With only 82 tenants left to settle the issues at Sultan Bazaar, the government officials are hopeful of an amicable settlement.
