Virat plays its safe, asks Anushka not to visit Australia during semi-finals

Mumbai: Anushka Sharma has proven to be a lucky charm for Virat Kohli on several occasions. The actress was to fly down to the land down under to support her man during his match in the semi-finals against Australia. However numerous reports suggest the trip has been called off.

Why, you ask? According to reports, the actress has decided not to visit the country as she doesn’t want the media to focus their attention on the couple. If the team is unsuccessful in the semi-final match, fans may point fingers at the ‘NH10’ actress like they did when Virat performed poorly at the England tour.

Recently the actress spoke out about being blamed for Virat’s poor form, saying, “My relationship with a person has nothing to do with my professional life or the person’s professional life. But I think people just see us like that, for them its eye grabbing so let’s talk about that.”

Reports suggest that the BCCI may have imposed a rule not allowing players to be accompanied by their girlfriends while on tour, however the rule doesn’t apply for wives. In the words of Anushla, it’s sad to see the capability of sports stars doubted, especially when they have been playing the sport since they were children.
