Tirupati: Blaming the Centre for the injustice melted out to Andhra Pradesh in the Budget, TD leaders, led by Tirupati legislator M. Sugunamma, organised a protest at Alipiri in Tirupati on Monday. Tension prevailed, when the TTD vigilance officials raised objections to the protest and tried to send the protestors away.
Notwithstanding the objections, the TD leaders continued the protest at the entry point to Tirumala. Criticising the Centre for not fulfilling promises made in the State Reorganisation Bill. Holding the photos of Lord Venkateswara, they raised slogans requesting the Lord to change the mindset of the Centre.
Ms Sugunamma questioned the rational behind ignoring the state even after admitting to deficit in the budget. TD state general secretary Narasimha Yadav said that they have been praying to Lord Venkateswara so that the Centre would to take care of AP.
