New Delhi: Will the transition of power in the Congress be a smooth affair? Party leaders are still debating whether it is a better time for Rahul Gandhi’s elevation or if Sonia Gandhi should continue to lead the grand old party and expand the defunct UPA to keep a check on the BJP.
While a section of seniors in the party has joined the “Rahul lao Congress bachao (Bring Rahul, save Congress)” chorus, others are cautious and questioning the timing of Gandhi’s coronation.
Rajasthan PCC president Sachin Pilot said that grassroots workers of the party want Sonia Gandhi to lead the Congress.
On the other hand, the talk of collective leadership has also begun after realising that the Mr Gandhi would find if difficult to take on the BJP-led by Narendra Modi and regional players simultaneously.
