Rupees 100 crore every year for Yadagirigutta temple

Yadagirigutta temple is developed into a world-class religious and tourism centre

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said on Wednesday that the state government would allot Rs 100 crore in the Budget every year till the famous Yadagirigutta temple is developed into a world-class religious and tourism centre.

Mr Rao conducted an aerial survey of Yadagirigutta along with officials and architects on Monday. He also visited the temple and examined the premises for about 40 minutes to discuss measures that needed to be taken for a complete makeover of the temple.

The CM was accompanied by Yadagirigutta Development Authority chairman G. Kishan Rao, Stapathi Soundararajan, architects Raj Expedith, Anand Sai and Jagan. They showed the new designs and master design of the temple to Mr Rao, who asked them to take suggestions from Chinna Jeeyar Swamy before finalising them.

He told the officials that the new constructions should be in accordance with Agama Shastra. He also rejected the proposal to build a helipad on the hill.“The government will soon invite Chinna Jeeyar Swamy to the temple and take his views and suggestions on the matter,” Mr Rao said.

He asked officials to make provisions for centralised parking, shopping complex and two-way road connectivity to go up and down the hill. He also directed R&B officials to lay a four-lane road from Raigir to Yadagirigutta.

Mr Rao asked the architects to provide adequate space for the stay of pilgrims including overnight stay, sufficient space for performing traditional vrathams on mass scale, yagasala, kalyana mandapam and a hall for discourses.

He suggested that the temple complex should be on 5-acre land and the remaining 10 acre on the hill should be utilised for other facilities for pilgrims.
