'Hey Prabhu’ Railway Minister puns on his name, has Parliament in splits

New Delhi: Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Thursday shared a light moment in the Parliament by punning on his name while announcing his maiden Budget.

"Our priority is to improve the capacity in the high density section. But I thought, hey Prabhu (oh god), how will it happen. Prabhu (God) didn't answer, so this Prabhu thought, why can't we do something?”

Known for his love for poetry, Prabhu used a Hindi phrase to explain his ministry’s agenda to overhaul the railway sector.

“Kuch naya jodna hoga, kuch purana todna hoga, kuch engine badalne honge, kuch repair karne honge (have to add something new, break something old, change some engines and tune some engines),” he said.

In a huge relief to the commuter, Prabhu said that there would be no hike in passenger fares.
