Andhra Pradesh seizes Agri Gold assets

The government issued a GO attaching the Agri Gold properties
Hyderabad: The AP government has attached properties of the Agri Gold Group and Abhaya Gold Infratech Pvt Ltd worth thousands of crores in connection with an alleged land scam.
The Crime Investigation Department (CID) had sent proposals to the government to identify the properties of these two companies. Both companies had cheated around 3.2 million customers of Rs 6,500 crore promising higher returns and plots.
The government issued a GO ordering the attachment of 16,857 acres owned by Agri Gold promoters. “The CID established that the Agri Gold group had cheated the public and recommended the attachment of its 16,857.81 acres and 82,207.08 sq. yards of land in AP, 2.5 kg gold, Rs 7.5 lakh cash and 54 four wheelers.
The government issued two GOs attaching the above properties,” a CID official said.
Similarly, the government attached properties worth Rs 200 crore belonging to Abhaya Gold following a request from the Crime Investigation Department.
The police warned the public not to get attracted by the schemes of the two companies in future. “Thousands have already been cheated.
And now since their properties have been attached entering into agreements for sale or transfer of attached properties is illegal. So the people are advised not to enter into any transaction with these companies,” said T. Krishna Prasad, additional director general of police, CID.
