Wipro, Andhra Pradesh government to create AP’s digital data

The project will integrate data and services of various departments

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government, in association with software giant Wipro, is developing AP State Enterprise Architecture, that will create a digital repository of the state’s data. AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday met Wipro executives and talked about the implementation of the project. The repository would contain data of every citizen in the state and his/her socio-economic profile, Aadhaar details, education, benefits the citizen is availing from the government etc.

The state decided to get Wipro’s help after Chandrababu Naidu met the company’s chairman Azim Premji at the World Economic Forum at Davos. The project will integrate data and services of various departments. IT advisor to AP government J. Satyanarayana said the project will be carried out in two phases. Phase one includes primary domain departments that are linked to social welfare, while phase two includes secondary domain departments.

The IT department will obtain data from the planning department and hold a vision workshop with all the top officials. Experts will gather data and create e-lockers and repository of data. Experts will be using technologies like SMAC (Social Mobility, Analytics and Cloud) and Big Data to ensure cyber security. “For instance, if a student’s profile from a school is chosen under the enterprise, his or her education, Aadhaar, socio-economic, health and skill assessment details will be obtained. We will also know if the child is having mid-day meals. We will plug all gaps,” Mr Naidu said.
