Baba Gurmeet trying to spread message of humanity through 'MSG'

The controversial godman also hopes to transform and change society for the better
Mumbai: Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s controversial film ‘MSG’, in which the twitter trending godman plays director and lead actor releades in cinemas on Friday. The 'messenger of god' sits down for a candid conversation with Subhash K Jha.
How do you describe yourself, God, Man or Godman?
A humanitarian, a selfless saint, a servant of all of God's children!
What prompted you to make a film that tells your own story? Was it the craving for further publicity?
No, the observation that the youth take to films more than anything else.
You have over a lakh of followers, what message would you like to give them through your film?
The message to humanity is that without drugs, with celibacy before marriage, by following morality, by being a vegetarian and meditation, that was taught by the True Selfless Master for free, one can realize self-confidence and even God.
Filmmaking requires a high level of qualification and dedication. Do you have what it takes to make a film?
Spirituality through my True Master Shah Satnam is such a miraculous boost to self confidence that I feel that nothing good is impossible.
Did you learn any acting before facing the camera for this film?
No.
You see yourself as spiritual rock star. Please explain what the image is meant to convey.
It is not to seek an image but to reach out to the youth through a language they understand. It was in fact a demand by the youth.
A recent film PK exposed the culture of godmen and organized religion in our country. What is your opinion on that film?
What we have heard is that there was a selectively wrongful depiction of Lord Shiva. All forms of religion deserve the highest reverence. Our country is also called Hindustan.
Your film was passed by the censor board amidst a whole lot of controversies. Do you think your film will be controversial after it is released?
No, people are commenting without the film. It's like reading a letter without opening the envelope.
How do you see yourself in the context of your followers? How do you deal with their worship and adulation?
I teach people meditation for God’s realization. I love all as children of God.
Lately several messengers of God such as Asaram Bapu and Baba Ramdev have been under scrutiny. How differently do you see yourself as compared with these other messengers of God?
Truth and hypocrisy have always gone side by side. Society has never spared saints or sinners, they have treated them all alike.
What kind of an impact do you expect your film to make?
Transforming youth and changing society for the better.
