Chandrababu Naidu to visit Warangal today, TRS to protest

Local TRS leaders plans to wave black flags for his anti-Telangana stance

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s first visit to Warangal on Thursday after becoming CM has annoyed the Telangana Rashtra Samiti.

The local TRS leaders plan to stage protests and wave black flags for his anti-Telangana stance.

“He said running AP from Hyderabad was like running the government from another country. We are telling him again that he should change his party’s to Pakka Desam. He is like the CMs of Karnataka and Maharashtra to us. He may come and go. We won’t lose anything,” said K. T. Rama Rao, IT minister.

He questioned Mr Naidu’s attempts to salvage the Telugu Desam in Telangana while working against the interests of the new state.

“Before coming to here, Mr Naidu should clarify why TS is denied its share of power from the Krishnapatnam and Hinduja power projects. Mr Naidu is trying to block irrigation projects across the Krishna River and also deny the state its rightful share of water,” he alleged.

Mr Naidu is on a one-day visit to Warangal district to boost the morale of party cadre, check defection to the TRS and revive the party. He will arrive at Hanamkonda at 11.30 am and address party leaders and workers at Hygrivachari grounds.

The TD lost several cadre and senior party leaders to the TRS. Tummala Nageswara Rao and T. Srinivas Yadav of the TD become senior leaders in the TRS.

TD MLA and leader E. Dayakar Rao justified the visit. TD floor leader L. Ramana objected to Mr Tummala Nageswara Rao and Mr T. Srinivas Yadav’s criticism of Mr Naidu.
