Popular comedian Jerry Seinfeld will be touring India next month. While as of now the show in Mumbai is slated for March 14 and 15 at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel stadium, NSCI, there are efforts being put in to extend the tour across India, said insiders.
Excited about his first ever performance in Asia, Seinfeld said in a statement “I have always been fascinated by India and its culture. I have great respect for its people and their way of life. It is a great honour for me to be invited to come there and make fun of it in person.”
His tour of India is a part of the Stage42 festival, that will take place in seven cities — including Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune — between February and March 2015. The festival in Hyderabad has already brought Russell Peters’ Almost Famous World Tour.
“For many of us, our introduction to comedy was Seinfeld (the show). He’s a comedian whose influence is impossible to understate, and it’s a matter of immense pride that we will be bringing this global icon to India for the first time,” said Arjun Ravi, Co-Founder , NH7.
