Telangana to seek land in Ajmer for pilgrims

Two acres of land will be used for construction of a guest house and pilgrim facilities for Telangana visitors

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has decided to formally ask Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje to allot two acres of land near the Khwaja Garib Nawaz Dargah at Ajmer. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao asked Deputy Chief Minister Mohd. Mahamood Ali to call on Rajasthan Chief Minister in Jaipur on Saturday to seek two acres of land for construction of a guest house and pilgrim facilities for those visiting from Telangana.

The Chief Minister had earmarked Rs 5 crore for the purpose and requested the Rajasthan government to land. The Deputy CM will carry a letter in this regard from Mr Rao to the Rajasthan Chief Minister. The CM made several offerings to gods and goddesses to fulfil his vow of achieving Telangana. While the Chief Minister will visit Ajmer dargah later, he decided to send the Deputy CM to prepare the ground work for construction of the guest house for the benefit of pilgrims.

He will also embark on a pilgrimage to thank the gods for granting statehood to Telangana. Mr Rao promised Rs 5 crore gold ornaments to Sri Venkateswara Swamy of Tirumala, goddess Padmavathi at Trichanur besides ornaments and other gifts to goddess Kanaka Durga in Vijayawada, Bhadrakali in Warangal and Lord Veerabhadra Swamy temple in Kuravi (Warangal district)
