Telugu Desam ropes in BJP for stir

Joint agitation programmes will be taken up after CM N. Chandrababu Naidu’s tour of Warangal

Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam in Telangana has decided to rope in the BJP, its electoral ally, and arch rival, the Congress, to wage a joint battle against the TRS government in the state.TD Legislature Party leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Thursday announced that the joint agitation programmes against the TRS government will be taken up after conclusion of AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s tour of Warangal district on February 12.

“We will take up mass agitations in all mandals and we are also organising an all-party meeting,” Mr Dayakar Rao told the media at TD headquarters. He said though Mr Naidu was ready to part surplus power in AP to TS, there was no request from Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao who has already told farmers that the government cannot guarantee power to farmers in the ongoing Rabi season for raising crops.

“If Naidu gives power to Telangana and farmers are allowed to raise crops, in future, they may support the TD in Telangana. For that reason only Mr Chandrasekhar Rao is not asking power from AP,” Mr Rao said.
