Jagan, aides appear in special court

YSRC chief appeared before the special court in connection with the alleged quid pro quo case

Hyderabad: YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy appeared before the special court for Central Bureau of Investigation cases here in connection with the alleged quid pro quo case on Wednesday. Earlier, Mr Jagan filed a discharge petition seeking removal of his name from the chargesheets filed against him in the case.

The special court posted the matter for counter on Wednesday. However, as the advocates had boycotted work, the principal special judge posted the hearing on the discharge petition in the first three chargesheets in the case to February 9. The court posted the main case for hearing to March 6. The other accused who appeared in the court are Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s close aide, Vijay Sai Reddy and Ramky Group’s A.Ayodhya Ram Reddy. There was a security beef up at the Nampally Criminal Courts in view of Mr Jagan’s appearance.

The CBI had filed 11 chargesheets in Jagan’s case till now. In its first chargesheet, the agency alleged that allotment of 75 acres of land each to Hetero Group of companies and Aurobindo group were quid pro quo investments made by these companies into Jagan’s firm to the tune of Rs 29.5 crore
