Special rail coach for freed children

Officials said a group of 80 kids will be sent in a special coach in the Patna Express
Hyderabad: Officials of the Telangana crime investigation department, south zone police, district child protection unit members and the GRP will accompany the first batch of children leaving for Bihar on Wednesday. Officials said a group of 80 kids will be sent in a special coach in the Patna Express, which would leave Hyderabad at 10 am. South Central Railway granted a special coach as per the request of the Child Welfare Committee for sending back the kids.
Meanwhile, minister for women and child welfare Tummala Nageswara Rao visited the kids on Tuesday to check out the facilities provided to them. The minister discussed the rehabilitation process with officials from various government departments. He asked them to take all measures to eliminate child labour in Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana. He also asked the police to continue raids to find if more kids are secretly employed in any parts of the city.
District child protection officer Md. Imthiyas, who is in-charge of the kids rehabilitation said SCR had provided a sleeper coach to transport the 80 kids. “We asked for a 3rd AC coach, but since it will take more time we took a sleeper coach,” he said. More kids will leave the city in coming days, he added.
At Patna, the principal secretary of Bihar and officials from the department of social welfare will receive the kids. “They will take the rehabilitation process forward. Our officials will ensure the kids reached their state safely,” said an official.
Meanwhile, south zone police interrogated the suspects who were arrested in the case. The police is likely to arrest more employers in connection with the case. South zone DCP V. Satynarayana said the raids will continue in the old city to rescue more children.
