Mahesh Babu is set to adopt his native village of Burripalem, in the Guntur district. Guntur MP and Mahesh Babu’s brother-in-law Jayadev Galla, while participating at an event in Burripalem, announced that the actor wishes to turn the village into a ‘smart one’.
Mahesh Babu’s father and yesteryear actor Krishna was born in Burripalem. And even after Krishna became a star, the family would visit whenever possible. Krishna had even named one of his films after the village, called Burripalem Bullodu (1979).
Mahesh was also extremely attached to grandmother Nagaratnamma, who lived in the village prior to her passing. The family though are keeping it under wraps with Mahesh’s wife Namrata Shirodkar saying it was too early to talk about it. “At this point I can’t reveal much about the project. Also, we are yet to finalise several small details,” she said.
