It is no secret in B’town that Salman Khan has kept a safe distance from Deepika Padukone all these years, possibly due to her close proximity with his rival Khan, Shah Rukh. Dippy, despite repeatedly expressing her desire to be part of Salman’s films, never received an offer and most recently, didn’t bag his next, Sooraj Barjatya’s film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, either. However, the duo’s bonding at an award function caught much attention since the two are known to keep away from each other.
“Their newfound friendship couldn’t have gone unnoticed by the other stars because they never see eye-to-eye at public events. Salman may be uncomfortable with the fact that she is part of the rival camp,” said an eyewitness.
Buzz is that it was Karan Johar who played the good Samaritan again. “KJo and Deepika have worked together and have been friends too. It was his idea to first bring the two on stage together. Since Karan was hosting the show, it had to be different from the rest and Karan knows exactly how to do that,” added the eyewitness.
