Watch: This girl slams derogatory lyrics in an open letter to Honey Singh

Rene Sharanya Verma of Delhi Poetry Slam raps about objectification of women

‘Blue eyes, hypnotize teri kardi hai mennu’ is something we are often found mumbling. Yes, Honey Singh’s lyrics are definitely catchy but as a matter of fact, they are derogatory.

In an open letter to Honey Singh, Rene Sharanya Verma of Delhi Poetry Slam gives some major level of burns to the rapper. From rapping about how much struggle he would have faced to make things rhyme, she gradually moves into a frenzy as she blasts out about the objectification of women. The standards they are put up to but no matter how they look, they are flawless.

She raps, "I am not an afterthought, I am not an overpriced sweater in Zara, I'm not an ambraan di queen or a kudi namkeen. I am not blue eyes, hypnotise. Mein choti dress mein bomb nahin lagti, yaar. I am not a woofer and you sure as hell ain't my amplifier, what are you a f***king transformer? And dear Honey Singh, if you feed my dog a nashe-wali biskoot, I will cut you up."

Well, watch the video for youself.
