Nitish broke ties with BJP to become Prime Minister: Amit Shah

He said after Nitish Kumar joined hands with RJD, Jungle Raj returned to the state

Patna: The birth anniversary function organised by the BJP in Patna turned out to be an election rally when the national president of the BJP Amit Shah urged his own party leaders and the party workers to ensure 185 (plus) seats in favour of the party.

Kick starting ‘Mission Bihar’ Shah tried to woo the extremely backward caste in its camp on the birth anniversary of Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur on Friday in Patna.

The BJP national president found the occasion right to criticise the political parties who have been doing politics of backwards and minorities in the state. Targeting JD (U), RJD and Congress he said these three political parties used the backward community to win polls but didn’t do anything for them. The visit of Amit Shah is significant since the two parties JD (U) and RJD are set to merge in the state before the elections.

“BJP by celebrating the birth anniversary of Karpoori Thakur wants to cause a dent in the vote bank of these two parties”, JD (U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said

Amit Shah while addressing a crowded Vetenary college ground in Patna said that the Development of Bihar is not possible without developing the EBCs and other backward castes of the state. Unemployment, he said was the main hindrance in their development. Amit Shah said the main focus of his government at the centre was to uplift such communities who have been living in utter poverty.

Hitting out at the former chief minister Nitish Kumar Shah accused him of joining hands with RJD and congress to pursue his personal ambition to become the Prime Minister.

“Karpoori Thakur was the only leader who spoke and worked for the poor and backwards of the state. He always thought of their progress and after him his own people broke the legacy and led the state towards backwardness”, BJP national president Amit Shah said. He further added, “Nitish Kumar chose to break ties with the BJP in the state only to fulfill his personal ambition and goal to become the Prime Minister”.

Criticising the state government for failing in maintaining the law and order he said, “When NDA was in power in Bihar the criminals were shoved behind bars but after Nitish Kumar joined hands with RJD Jungle Raj returned. Our party is committed and we will never let the criminals grow in Bihar”.

“Take out you mobile phones and punch the number that I am telling you and in one second you will be the member of BJP”, he said reading out the number. He said that BJP will come to power in Bihar to end the misrule of those parties who always used the votes of poor and backwards but did nothing for them.

Hitting out at JD (U), RJD, he said that these were the parties who were an offshoot of Karpoori Thakur, but they have only spoilt the name of the ‘Jan Nayak’.

“These leaders after taking the baton from him could have pushed the state towards development but today Bihar is the most backward state, these leaders only thought about themselves and not the people who gave them votes”, Amit Shah said.

The BJP National President Amit Shah is on a two- day visit to Bihar. He is scheduled to meet party workers on Saturday and is also expected to monitor the membership drive of the party, which is focusing to pull in seventy- five lakh member by March 31. According to BJP leaders a three- day membership drive is being organized by the party workers at the booth level.
