According to the GHMC officials, the Railways is supposed to pay service charges to GHMC instead of property tax at 33, 50 and 75 per cent based on the services provided by GHMC.
Hyderabad: The GHMC has served a notice to the South Central Railway authorities claiming that the SCR is a service tax defaulter to a tune of Rs 33.70 crore. The civic corporation has asked the SCR officials to release the due amount immediately.
According to the GHMC officials, the Railways is supposed to pay service charges to GHMC instead of property tax at 33, 50 and 75 per cent based on the services provided by GHMC. The total service charges including the annual demand due to GHMC is Rs 33.70 crores.
That apart, the GHMC has also asked the Railways to speed up the process of handing over railway properties for Metro work at Chilkalguda junction to Bhoiguda and from Bhoiguda Y-junction to Bhoiguda RUB.
