2 more die of swine flu, toll in Telangana rises to 7

21 new cases of H1N1 have been diagnosed taking the toll to 138 cases of both states

Hyderabad: Two patients in their late 30’s, who were undergoing treatment for H1N1 (swine flu) at the Gandhi Hospital, succumbed on Saturday. With this, the total number of H1N1-related deaths have risen to seven in January 2015 in Telangana. The patients were from Mehdipatnam and A.S. Rao Nagar in the city. In Andhra Pradesh, one death has been reported in January 2015.

Twenty one new cases of H1N1 have been diagnosed on January 17 taking the toll to 138 cases of both the states. The patients are aged betw-een 25 to 40 years and undergoing treatment. Three of these patients are children below the age of six The government of TS and AP have not held any meetings on the issue.

In view of the increasing cases. They have merely asked the district medical and health officers to go and meet the relatives of the affected patients and counsel them. But at the ground level, there is no appeal to people to be isolated so that the human-to-human viral transmission can be controlled.
