19 IAS officers opt for Telangana over Andhra Pradesh

After making allotments, the Centre had given 15 days to state their options
Hyderabad: A posting in Telangana State is preferred over Andhra Pradesh by quite a few Indian Administrative Service officers. About 19 IAS officers including B.P. Acharya, Manmohan Singh and S.N. Mohanty, have opted to work for the Telangana government.
After making allotments of IAS officers between the two states, the Centre had given 15 days to All India Service officers to state their options. From AP, 19 IAS officers, including a few senior ones, have expressed their desire to work in Telangana.
The IAS officers allotted to the Andhra Pradesh government who have opted to work for Telangana are S.N. Mohanty, B.P. Acharya, T. Radha, Shalini Mishra, Manmohan Singh, Somesh Kumar, Shanti Kumari, Anantaram, J.S. Ranjan, Vikas Rao, Jaya Lakshmi, Seshadri, V. Karuna, Ronald Rose, Swetha Mohanty, Vani Prasad, Adityanath Das, Amrapali and Siddhardha Jain. Meanwhile 5 IAS officers from Telangana have opted to work in AP.
The chief secretaries of both states have sent the list to the Centre. However, since the Centre’s guidelines state that options will be allowed on cadre basis, only three or four IAS officers may get the chance to work with the Telangana government.
