KCR anti-graft helpline rectified, gets 3,000 calls on Day 1

Over 3,000 calls were received on the number till 8 pm

Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Monday rectified the lapses of the anti-graft toll free number (040-23454071) to enable people to lodge corruption-related complaints against officials.

The toll free number that was catering to Arogyasri-related complaints, from Monday also started receiving corruption-related complaints. Arogyasri complaints are also being received on the same number. The number announced by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in Warangal on Sunday had created confusion among callers as there was no option to lodge complaints and the IVRS system had the provision to take Arogyasri related queries only.

Special executives were deployed in the call centre on Monday to receive calls. The helpline was flooded with calls on Day 1. Over 3,000 calls were received from all over the state till 8 pm. However, most of the callers sought pensions, scholarships, houses etc. instead of lodging graft-related complaints.
