Salman Khan was the first choice for 'Gama', says Puneet Issar

The film that was on hold for the past five years

Mumbai: After being evicted from the Bigg Boss house, Puneet Issar’s hands are tied again, this time not for some task but for his upcoming film 'Gama'.

The film was on hold for the past five years and has Sohail Khan in the lead. “Five years ago I thought of this film only because of Salman Khan but he was unwell at that point of time. He had to play a wrestler and the film was physically gruelling. Salman could not have done it at that point in time so instead Salman said that he wants to produce the film for me. Meanwhile Sohail auditioned for the film and we really liked his performance. He looks amazing as Gama.”

Puneet further added that Sohail has been preparing for his role from past one year and has groomed himself and his body for the same. “Nobody could have played this character better than Sohail”, says the 55-year-old actor.

However the casting has not yet been completed, as Puneet wants to spend time with his family before the film goes on floors. “I have just come out of the Bigg Boss house, I need time to relax. We have already started with the pre-productions and booked our locations but there’s still a lot more to be done now. I want to be in peace with myself,” he shared.

Rumours were abuzz that Bollywood’s heart throb John Abraham is also roped in for the role of Gama by Sheel Kumar, John's producer partner.

Puneet who is currently distressing all the Bigg Boss stress rubbishes the news and says, “I have been working on this film from past 5 years and we have already registered for the title. We finalised the locations and permissions in November. Salman has also called in wrestlers from abroad for the film. We are making this film on a grand scale.”
