Chief Justice of India all praise for PM Narendra Modi

The CJI described PM Modi as a man with a foresight, a good leader and a good human being

New Delhi: The Chief Justice of India H.L Dattu on Friday described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a man with a foresight, a good leader and a good human being who strives for good governance.

In an informal interaction, the CJI said, “I met the PM four times and I would rate him as a good leader, a good human being, a man with foresight who would strive for good governance.”

He said in the last four months, his relationship with the NDA government was very good and there was positive response and all the demands of judiciary made by him had been met.

On terrorist attack in France, the CJI said, “It is a matter of concern for all of us. But our government has taken all preventive measures and things have improved after the Mumbai 26/11 attacks.”

Asked about the government introducing the National Judicial Appointments Commission, Justice Dattu said, “I am not upset that our power has been taken away. Parliament does its job and we do our job. There are three vacancies in the SC and nothing stops us to fill in these vacancies because the new law of appointing judges will have to be notified, rules have to be made and ratified by Parliament and it may take three months.”
