Amul eyes 20 per cent milk market in Hyderabad

GCMMF is launching pouch milk in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), the leading producer of milk under the brand name Amul, announced the launch of its operations in Hyderabad.

GCMMF, which sells 100 lakh litres of pouch milk across India per day, is launching pouch milk in Hyderabad with an objective of reaching out to the 7 million strong population of the city.

R.S. Sodhi, managing director, GCMMF said, “We have identified Hyderabad as an opportune market for our fresh product offerings. We would be selling pouch milk and packed dahi to the consumers who are brand conscious and are willing to associate themselves with the strong brand name of Amul. We would be offering our best quality fresh products at affordable prices to consumers. Amul is looking to garner a 20 per cent share of the Hyderabad milk market.”

With this development, Amul will now be present in Telangana along with Gujarat, Delhi and NCR, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Goa.

Amul would be marketing Milk at economical price of Rs 38 per litre for Amul Taaza toned milk, Rs 50 per litre of Amul Gold full cream milk and Double Toned Milk ‘Amul Slim-n-Trim’ at Rs 10 per 300 ml pouch.
