There is a god in Gopala Gopala: Suresh Babu

The film has already been made in Hindi and was cleared by the Censor Board

There are reports that some Hindu organisations approached the Regional Censor Board not to clear the upcoming Telugu film Gopala Gopala.

They objected to a few scenes and said that a few dialogues may hurt the sentiments of Hindus. When contacted, Suresh Babu, one of the producers of the film, said that he is taking utmost care while making the film.

“The film has already been made in Hindi and was cleared by the Censor Board. We are making the same film and we are taking utmost care to ensure that no religious sentiments are hurt.” says Suresh Babu. He added that the difference between his film and the recently released pk is that his film has a God.

“The film is about how to love God and not fear Him. I don’t think that there is any controversy in it,” he says.

In the film an atheist files a case against God, who then comes down to earth and puts him on to the right path. Talking about the number plate on a bike that Pawan Kalyan rides in the film, he says, “We have taken the number from the original Hindi film and it has three symbols.”

The organisation objected to a scene where Lord Ganesha wears a helmet. “You can see different idols during the Ganesh Chaturthi when people come up with many ideas. Some idols even use a cricket backdrop or theme,” says Suresh Babu defending his film.
