Nearly 150 NDFB crades are holed up in Myanmar

Guwahati: With situation limping back to normal in trouble torn three districts of Assam after carnage, the security forces on Monday arrested two linkmen and busted a hideout of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) in the ongoing counter-insurgency operations in Assam.

Police said that they have arrested two linkmen who sheltered the NDFB rebels a day before the carnage.

However, local media, which was given access to the arrested linkmen for an interview named two NDFB rebels Sunil and Mahanta who led the carnage.

They also claimed that NDFB rebels who killed plantation workers on Tuesday used the mobile sim card of Andhra Pradesh to make calls through his mobile.

In what has given a new twist to the incident, the linkmen claimed in their TV interview that cadres of pro talk faction of NDFB led by Ranjan Daimary were also involved in the carnage.

Meanwhile, the external affairs ministry has been mounting pressure on Myanmar to carry out joint military operations to bust the hide outs of Indian insurgent groups operating from their uninhabited hilly terrains adjoining the border with India. Nearly 150 NDFB crades are holed up in Myanmar.
