Bengaluru: BJP National President Amit Shah will be in Bengaluru on January 3 to take stock of the on-going party membership drive in Karnataka.
Addressing a joint press conference here on Monday, former minister and MLA S Suresh Kumar and party spokesperson and MLC Ashwanthnarayan said, Mr Shah will be chairing the state core committee meeting to be held at the party office in Malleswaram in Bengaluru at 9:30 am.
This is followed by a meeting with the party parliament members and legislators at the same venue at 12 noon.
At 3 pm, Mr Shah will be addressing a meeting of state-office bearers, district presidents and Lok Sabha members at Gangamma Thimmaiah Convention Center, Basaveshwara Nagar in the city.
The BJP leaders also announced that the three-day BJP national executive meeting to be held in Bengaluru from January 19 has been postponed indefinitely following US President Barack Obama's visit to India to take part in the Republic Day parade on January 26 in Delhi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has to be present in Delhi since it was his first RD parade in which Mr Obama is participating. "The postponement has nothing do with the explosion in Bengaluru on Sunday which claimed a life and left two injured".
