Hyderabad: A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a pastor who is also an organiser of a children home at a village in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, police said on Friday.

The accused, K Jayaraju, raped the minor twice this month on the premises of the children home located in Pedanandipadu village, after which the victim told her mother about it. The complaint was lodged on December 17, police said.

 

The victim, who is a class VIII student at the children home-cum-education institute, was sent for medical examination after the alleged incident, Sub Inspector of the Pedanandipadu police station Lokeshwar said.

A case under Section 376 of IPC(whoever commits rape shall be punished) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) has been registered.

The accused is absconding and further investigation is on, he said.
