Twitterati show solidarity with Pakistan, while protesting against Lakhvi’s bail

Indians called out for a unity with Pakistan in the war against terror on Twitter

Mumbai: After the brutal massacre by Pakistani Taliban on a school in Peshawar left 148 people dead and many injured, India showed solidarity and condemned the dastardly terrorist attack.

Twitterati across India tweeted their support and showed solidarity with the people of Pakistan. Soon the hashtag #IndiaWithPakistan started trending on Twitter.

In fact, that was the top hashtag for 2 days. The outpouring of grief and show of solidarity was received positively by Pakistanis. It was viewed as an important step in making the situation across borders cordial.

On Twitter, Indians called out for a unity with Pakistan in the war against terror.

On Thursday after Pakistan granted bail to 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks mastermind Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, Indians were taken aback. Pakistan’s commitment in its fight against terror was questioned. That is when Fatima Bhutto, author and niece of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto tweeted #IndiaWithPakistan was an important moment of solidarity. So should #PakWithIndiaNoToLakhviBail be.

Pakistan People’s Party leader and spokesperson tweeted #PakWithIndiaNoToLakhviBail. MT :"@cyalm: Until Pakistan learns to feel others' pain, it will never stop hurting itself. Mumbai. Lakhvi."

Soon, Twitterattis picked up on the hashtag, and voiced their protest against Lakhvi’s bail, while remembering the horrors of the Peshawar attack and showing solidarity.

The cross border unity against terror is fast becoming a top trend on Twitter. Many Pakistanis have come forward and have criticised the decision and questioned the Pakistan Government over its decision to grant Lakhvi bail.
