Andhra Pradesh: MLA hits teacher with sandal

Anitha had lodged a complaint against the teacher for verbally abusing her

Visakhapatnam: Payakaraopeta MLA V. Anitha and four others have been booked for allegedly beating up Regapalli, a teacher of a private school, with her sandal.

Though the incident took place on December 10, it came to light on Monday after Mr Rao, who is also a member of the TD, lodged a complaint at Payakaraopeta police station.

However, on December 10, the Ms Anitha had lodged a complaint against the teacher for verbally abusing her in an intoxicated state.

Sub-inspector of Payakaraopeta Ch. Harikrishna said that Mr Rao’s complaint was a cross complaint against the case filed by the MLA and the investigation is on.

Police said according to the complaint of Mr Rao he was called by Ms Anitha along with the principal of his school to her office. She threatened them first, then attacked Mr Rao with her chappal and later her supports assaulted him.

Sources said that Mr Rao was allegedly trying to tarnish Ms Anitha’s image by organising a few meetings against the MLA. On Monday, relatives of Rama Rao staged a protest in front of Payakaraopeta police station demanding the arrest of the MLA.
