Hyderabad Central University professor opposes Cinema city, demands bio park

Local people led by Professor Rao have blocked work at a 5,630-acre field firing range

Hyderabad: Professor Jayadheer Tirumal Rao, an activist, has opposed the plan of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to set up Cinema City at Rachakonda Hills. He wants the government to set up a bio-diversity park instead.

Prof. Rao, a former director of the Oriental Manuscripts Library and Research Centre, is a visiting professor at HCU’s Centre for Dalit and Adivasi Studies.

He had released a book Rachakondanu Kaapaadukundaam (Let us protect Rachakonda) in April this year.

Local people led by Professor Rao have blocked work at a 5,630-acre field firing range in Rachakonda.
