Hyderabad: The much-awaited Cabinet expansion by Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao will take place at Raj Bhavan here on December 16 at 11 am.
The six who are tipped for Cabinet berth in addition to present 12 are: Tummala Nageswara Rao (presently not a legislator) from Khammam district, Jupally Krishna Rao (Kollapur in Mahbubnagar) and Laxma Reddy (Jadcherla), A. Indrakaran Reddy (BSP MLA from Nirmal). In an unusual tactical move to appease ministerial aspirants, who will be denied Cabinet berths and avoid triggering unrest in party, the CM on Saturday announced appointments of the Chief Whip, Whips, some Parliamentary Secretaries and promised Corporation posts to legislators.
The Chief Minister met Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and spent an hour discussing Cabinet expansion, the Governor’s recent visit to New Delhi pertaining to state issues, including provisional approval of IAS, IPS officers, water sharing, power, government employees bifurcation, intermediate board among others.
