Will Fawad Khan break the jinx?

Fawad’s growing popularity in India seems poised to break the jinx for Pakistani actors

Mumbai: For decades, Pakistani actors have tried and failed to create an impact in Hindi films. After years of facing rejection, finally Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan seems to have come close to breaking the jinx. Word is that a few production houses in Bollywood have been in touch with Fawad’s managers in India and Pakistan. After the news about Fawad teaming up with Alia Bhatt for the biopic on Mahendra Singh Dhoni started doing the rounds, it is the Bhatt camp and actor and filmmaker John Abraham who are keen to rope in Fawad for their upcoming films. “I think it’s the result of being in the right place at the right time. Yes, there are a few film offers but we’ll wait until the producers decide to make an official announcement,” says a source close to Fawad.

His popularity in India has been constantly on the rise. According to reliable sources, organisers of top-notch award ceremonies, have, on pubic demand, requested Fawad to attend their event. “Yes, we have been working on that. The visa and some paper work need to be in place before we commit,” adds the source close to Fawad. The Pakistani actor will be the first from his country to be part of award ceremonies that celebrate and felicitate the stalwarts of Hindi cinema.
