TNCC president blames goverment for not worried about industries shutting down

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president E.V.K.S. Elangovan on Friday blamed the state government for industries leaving the state.Asked about Taiwan-based mobile parts manufacturer Foxconn winding up its operations in the state capital, Mr Elangovan told reporters at Satyamurthy Bhavan that, “The state government is responsible for it. They are not worried about industries closing down.”

Responding to another query about the conversion bill, Mr Elangovan described it as “murder of democracy”, and said, “It is up to people of the country to decide which religion they want to belong to. If not, they have the right to say they do not follow any religion. Religion is a private matter and the government should not interfere in it.”

On Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeting cine star Rajinikanth on his birthday Friday on a social networking site, Mr Elangovan said, “Modi has greeted him through Twitter, I would give a flower bouquet and wish him in person.”
