Mumbai: The very reclusive screen-queen of yesteryear Sadhana went into major surgery at K J Somaiya Medical College rather than the Lilavati hospital because she didn’t want anyone to know about her condition. It is learnt that she suffered from mouth cancer.
Shocked to hear that her dear friend had undergone such a critical medical process Asha Parekh who along with Waheeda Rehman are Sadhana’s closest friends , said, “I had no clue of Sadhana’s surgery, though we did suspect something was wrong when Sadhana suddenly lost huge amounts of weight. Waheeda and I expressed concern she explained as the result of a new diet. But now I realize she was hiding her medical condition.”
Asha still doesn’t know what her friend was operated for. “Her faithful woman-friday Flora told me it was dental surgery. But how can dental surgery go on for 9 hours, as reported and why an Oncologist? No, this is is serious.I am very worried.”
Among all the iconic screen queens of yesteryears , Sadhana has always been the most reclusive.
Says Asha, “When she gets to know her surgery has been reported in the papers she will be very upset.”
