Indian blind cricket team wins ODI WC, earn praises from Sachin

Cricket icon congratulates team that beat Pakistan by five wickets to clinch trophy

New Delhi: Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar congratulated the India blind cricket team which won the One-Day International (ODI) World Cup on Sunday. He tweeted that their potential, "should inspire the potential world beaters in the country".

The Indian blind team got the better of arch-rivals Pakistan by five wickets in the final of the fourth World Cup held in Cape Town.

Batting first, Pakistan scored 389. The Indians reached 392 with two balls to spare with contributions coming from Prakasha Jayaramaiah (82), Ketanbhai Babubhai Patel (76) and Ajay Reddy (unbeaten 74).

India won all games but one - the first one against Pakistan - in the whole tournament which saw participation from Sri Lanka, Australia, Bangladesh, England and hosts South Africa.
