CM N Chandrababu Naidu to unveil land package today

Naidu will meet the dissenting farmers from Rayapudi, Borupalem

Hyderabad: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will be meeting farmers from Rayapudi, Borupalem, Abbarajupalem, Lingayapalem, Venkatayapalem and Kuragallu villages from the proposed capital city area on Monday and formally announce the land pooling compensation package.

Farmers from these villages own over 5,000 acre of riverfront land, but are against surrendering the same for the capital.

They have claimed that three crops are raised in a year on their lands and the annual income is Rs 2-3 lakh per acre per annum.

During their prior meetings with the Cabinet sub-committee, many of the farmers had said that apart from the financial reasons, the “sentiment” attached to their land was also a factor for them not wanting to part with it. , however, had made it clear that if a good compensation package were offered, they would reconsider their decision.

Meanwhile, Singapore minister Iswaran is arriving in the city on Monday and will be taken on a guided tour of the capital city area on December 9 and 10.

Even executive director of Singapore Centre for Livable Cities Khoo Teng Chye is arriving to meet the members of AP Capital Advisory Committee members.

The Andhra Pradesh government will also finalise the project management consultant for the capital city on December 15.

On the same day i.e. December 15, the Cabinet meeting is likely to be held to take a decision on bringing an Ordinance on the Capital Regional Development Authority or place it before the Assembly starting December 18.
