THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP national president Amit Shah will visit Kerala next month to take stock of the membership campaign.
Though the official membership campaign is yet to be launched in the state, 55, 816 supporters have joined the BJP since November 1 as part of the six-month national campaign through online. The door-to-door membership campaign will start on December 15.
Mr Amit Shah, who was in Thiruvananthapuram on September 1, had urged the state leadership to induct as many members as possible to 21,000-plus booth committees during the six-month membership campaign until March 31, 2015.
“The date for Amit Shah’s arrival is not yet fixed. He is likely to visit some other district and not capital as he was already here after he took over as the national president. Depending on his itinerary, the date will be finalised,” state BJP president V. Muraleedharan said.
